Blessings to you and your family in 2019 from the Martin Family.  May the words of Ephesians 1:15-23 be evident in the year ahead. 15  For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18  having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19  and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20  that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21  far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every na...

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to 2016.  I am working on a post for 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting for why I do not make New Year's Resolutions.  Check it out later in the month.  For today, I am sharing Matthew West's song "Day One" as a reminder of the new grace and mercy we receive each and every day. Because of the Lord ’s great love we are not consumed,      for his compassions never fail. 23  They are new every morning;      great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

We want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This was taken during our family vacation this past summer and was the kids first time at the ocean. Here is one of Bethany and I at ICRS 2014 in Atlanta, GA this summer. Blessings to you and your family on this Christmas day.

Sunday Sermon: 2014-Best Year Yet

Opening Illustration-What is your New Year’s Resolution?   According to Time Magazine the Top 10 Commonly Broken New Year's Resolutions As we begin 2014, I want 2014 to be your best year yet.   One of the ways we do this is by being aware of the world around us.   This begins by recognizing the spiritual battle we are in.   2 Corinthians 2:11 says, “in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” Background- The Christian should not be morbidly occupied with the subject of demonism; neither should he live in fear of demons.(Believer's Bible Commentary pg. 1952) (1) Satan is real.  (2) Satan is defeated (Colossians 2:14-15)  (3) Satan lies (John 8:44) & accuses (Revelation 12:10-11) Read Ephesians 6:10-18 (Vs. 10-13) Posture Vs. 10-Be Strong. How?   In the Lord and in his power. Vs. 11-Put on the armor so that you can stand against devil’s schemes 4 times in NIV in verses 11...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I am finishing up 2010 on vacation. Bethany and I and the kids spent our first three days on vacation in Branson . We stayed at Grand Country Inn which has an indoor waterpark . Each day we started with time in the water. Then we headed to Silver Dollar City to see the 4 million Christmas lights. It was a spectacular sight! There was a five story Christmas LED Tree with moving lights to music. There was also a lights parade. But probably the best was the live production of "A Christmas Carol." Our kids really enjoyed it and it had very good music. The extra bonus was that it was above 40 degrees on 2 days so we were able to ride roller coasters. This is a treat for Mitchell, Megan and I. Mackenzie is more like her mom in this area and does not enjoy roller coasters. Molly is still to be determined but she loves the "cat coaster" in Grand Exposition . We enjoyed some good meals together and of course some ice cream from Andy's. We he...
