Prayer Walk at Hesston Schools

Image
Today, was Service Sunday at Hesston MB.  On this day, our congregation divides into groups and heads into the community to serve in various ways.  My family split up this year.  Mitchell helped paint at youth room, Mackenzie delivered cookies to families, & Bethany, Megan & Molly pulled weeds and picked up trash at the school. I joined three other ladies to prayer walk at the elementary, middle and high schools.  We decided to circle the schools as we prayed.  Just like Jericho, we circled the high school seven times.  We circled the middle school three times & elementary school two times.  It was a blessing to pray God's Word as we circled these schools. It was a joy to pray big prayers to occur in each of these schools. I look forward to seeing how God will answer the prayers for His glory. For a great book on praying big prayers and circles, pick up a copy of The Circle Maker  by Mark Batterson at Faith & Life Bookstore i...

Family Service Project at H.E.S.

Image
These are just a few pictures from our family service project at Hesston Elementary this morning. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve with my kids and church family.  I am also glad we were able to help out our local schools as well. As you can tell from the picture above, even Molly and Jerrick got busy.  The boys shows us how its done.  It also reminded me of Sticky Faith and the discussion about serving together as families starting at a young age. Thank you to all who participated!

As Pastor of Children and Family at Hesston MB Church, my desire is to see dads continue to love, be available and play with their kids.  But more important is raising them to Love God & Love Others.   As fathers it is our responsibility to train our children spiritually.  Some of us need to step in and help others where a father has checked out, has abandoned the family, or is not a follower of Christ. So, dads, how are ...
