Wishing you a great Thanksgiving today from the Martin's! We are celebrating in Yates Center with my family today and then with Bethany's family on Saturday night.  I am looking forward to lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and the desserts.  How about you?

Brief Vacation

Today, begins a brief vacation my family will be taking over the Labor Day weekend. We will be headed to Yates Center to spend the weekend with family. It will be good to see several family members that I have not seen in several months. Enjoy your extra day off of work and make memories with your families. Coming Soon: Information about how to hear and follow the D6 Conference if you are unable to attend.

Fun in Yates Center

While Bethany and I were in Atlanta, the kids spent the week in Yates Center. They have been looking forward to this time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins for weeks. Molly has been asking since the middle of June when she gets to go to grandma's house. The middle girls love seeing their cousins and spending time with them. They had a great time in Yates Center. They went to five different pools while they were there. Also, enjoyed some shopping and basketball practice. They enjoyed eating at Aunt Kay Jean's and attending a baby shower for Allison ( Matile ) Garst . We were told that grandma makes the best macaroni and cheese. I think the kids were ready to be home, but they were glad to have had so much fun and spend "a lot of days" with Mason, Maddie, & Morgan.

There were lots of games, food, and everyone loves a parade. Being in your hometown brings back many memories. This is especially true this year since I will be celebrating my 15 year high school class reunion. I am looking forward to seeing many of my classmates and getting caught up on their lives. My kids' are excited about all of the kids' games and the parade. They think it is pretty cool that their dad will be in the parade. For those not familiar with YC Days, all classes who have been out of school for 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. have reunions and have a float in the parade. Where will I be? I remember thinking about that question in high school. So now, 15 years after graduation could I have imagined that I would be where I am today? Since college, I have lived in t...
