Verse of the Week

My Aunt Kay Jean suggested I start sharing a verse of the day.  I liked her suggestion but decided instead of a verse of the day, I would share a verse of the week.  Be reminded of who God is from His Word. Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth. 2       Worship the Lord with gladness;      come before him with joyful songs. 3  Know that the Lord is God.      It is he who made us, and we are his;      we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4  Enter his gates with thanksgiving      and his courts with praise;      give thanks to him and praise his name. 5  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;      his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100)

Psalm of Thanksgiving

As I mentioned yesterday, I am sharing Psalms in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Yesterday was Psalm 23 and today is Psalm 100. Psalm 100 A psalm. For giving grateful praise. 1  Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth.

During this time, spend time in prayer asking God for His direction for the future as well as evaluating the last few months from His perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the cabin last Friday. During prayer, God revealed some things to me through Scripture. He challenged me on areas in my personal life as well as ministry. It was also a good time to pray for an extended time for needs of those around me. Here is a humorous situation related to the retreat. We had a lot of rain the night before and many creeks were flooding on Friday morning. As I drove out to the cabin, I wondered what the lake beside the cabin would look like. When I arrived, the drive to the cabin was covered with water. I tried to go around the trees the most direct route and it was full of standing water. So, I decided to go the long way around the lake. I went through tal...
