It's hard to believe that another year of Hide N Seek has come and gone.  Hide N Seek is our midweek ministry to 4 year olds through 4th grade students at Hesston MB Church. Each year we end with a program for families and the congregation.  This used to occur in the evening, but the last few years we have moved it to Sunday during our worship service. At the program, our kid's choir will sing several songs they have learned this year.  You will also hear the Bible verses that each of the age groups have learned during Bible Memory.  I encourage you to come out and support our kids and you will be blessed as they share their gifts of song and scripture with you.  Our worship service is at 10:10 a.m. and our address is 610 W. Randall in Hesston, KS.

Let's be honest.  Bible memorization is hard.  Kids do it so easily, but as adults we struggle.  It is so encouraging when that verse comes to mind on that rough day.  Or you have a verse to share with a friend as you meet for coffee or lunch? Bible memorization is a good thing.  What matters most is the motivation.  Are we doing it to prove we are better Christians than someone else? Are we doing it to make God love us more?  Or are we doing it out of gratitude and joy for what God has DONE for us? Today is the fuzion trip to Salina to Kenwood Cove Waterpark & Freddys. We had 12 students who memorized all the verses to be able to attend. Here are a few pictures:

Today, I am headed to Salina to Kenwood Cove Waterpark with a group of fuzion students.  fuzion is our ministry to 5th/6th graders.  Today's trip is for 5 students who memorized all 12 verses of the year in fuzion.  It definitely challenged them, but it was worth it.  We will enjoy an afternoon at the waterpark and then eat out before heading home. Way to go, Ian, Jessica, Laura, Luke, and Tahlia!

As a family, we are memorizing one Scripture at a time together. This is a way to hold each other accountable. Right now, we are focusing on Philippians 2:3-4. The first simple idea is repetition. We will say the verse several times as we gather together as a family. A twist on this idea is to have your kids come up with an action for words or phrases of the passage. Read through the passage once and then discuss key words. Read it again and have the kids do the actions as you say the word and/or phrases. The second simple idea is making a game or activity out of it. Mitchell is always a fan of this. This week, we have tried two different games to help memorize. The first is to go around the family in a circle and each say one word of the verse until it is complete. When I was a substitute teacher in Iola , they would play a game like this with spelling words.
