Today is our final day of vacation in Branson and it is my Dad's birthday.  We look forward to celebrating with him as a family.  If you see him soon, wish him a "Happy Birthday".

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.  I am thankful for the dads in my life.  Thank you to my father who raised me and taught me the importance of hard work.  Thank you to my father-in-law who can fix anything and has fixed all of our cars and things around the house multiple times and for how he raised my wife.  

Today is my 21st wedding anniversary!  I am thankful for the amazing wife that God has blessed me with. This post was originally posted at 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting.  I wanted to share it since my daughter's birthday was last week. The month of March brings back many memories including the birth of my oldest daughter, Mackenzie. At 32 weeks, Bethany (my wife) began having contractions. The doctor was able to get the contractions stopped and immediately put her on bed rest. Since our first child Mitchell was 2 and would not be helpful to a mom on bed rest, he left for Kansas (we lived in Colorado) for the rest of the pregnancy. Bed rest went well for the next 3 weeks, but after an appointment, Bethany was released for limited activity. Since we were not ready at all for this baby, we needed to do some necessary errands. Following this day of errands, Bethany began having contractions again. This time the doctors could not get labor stopped. Mackenzie was born via C-section at 35 weeks. Immediately after birth she was taken to the NICU where she spent the nex...

Today is Mackenzie's birthday.  I plan to post a little about what we learned from 2 weeks of having a child in the NICU next week (check back on April 2). But for today, Happy Birthday to my beautiful, caring, sensitive, servant hearted daughter.  I love you and I am proud of who you are becoming.  I can't believe you are 17. I am so excited to be taking a short vacation to Branson this week.  Both my oldest (19) and youngest (11) asked to go to Branson for Spring Break.  Bethany and I decided we needed to make it happen.  We will spend 2 days at Silver Dollar City and we are looking forward to this time together as a family.  Thank you Lord for the opportunity to get away and spend time together! I am excited to ride some roller coasters.  Praying for good weather.
