Some of you may know that I serve part-time as social media coordinator for USMB conference.  One of the things I have done on their social media is share Bible verses with images that tie in with the words.  I decided to start sharing them weekly here on the blog. I hope you grow in your understanding of who God is from these verses.

Verse of the Week

My Aunt Kay Jean suggested I start sharing a verse of the day.  I liked her suggestion but decided instead of a verse of the day, I would share a verse of the week.  Be reminded of who God is from His Word. 6  Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7  Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. 8  This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” ...

Promises of God from Joshua

If you are a regular reader of the blog, you know I have been sharing the promises of God compiled by Kenneth Boa.  Today, I am sharing the promises from the book of Joshua.  Be encouraged! “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.   Then you will be prosperous and successful” (1:8). “Be strong and courageous.   Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (1:9). The Lord our God is God in heaven above and on the earth below (2:11). “So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their forefathers, and they took possession of it and settled there.   The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their forefathers.   Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord handed all their enemies over to them.   Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the h...

Pete Wilson is up first at D6 2012.  Check out  Pete's blog. "When in the Bible did God give anyone an easy task?" In this room, we have thousands of people with a calling with massive implications. The temptation is to focus on wrong things. "What matters most is not what you accomplish, it's who you become." Our primary responsibility is to be present with Him.  John 15 says "Remain in me and I will remain in you. . . .Apart from me you will do nothing. The branch is to abide; to remain. "We are, therefore we act." The Christian life is to be committed to God. I must stay connected to Him and if I do fruit will come. Plan A is the family.  Are we going to choose God-sized obedience or a man-sized solution? Exodus 33: 7,11-"Then Moses would return to the camp . . .but Joshua did not leave the tent. "Maybe Moses was addicted to doing for God instead of just being with God." "Constant contact with o...
