If the story of the Bible is about how God saves sinners by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, then our sermons should conclude with trusting in Christ alone as our final and ultimate application. Without Christ, all the commands and promises mean nothing. Christ Alone! @jonmoffitt Jesus showed what generosity looks like when He gave His life to save us. Because of Him, we can be generous too. #thegospelprojectkids In Christ, there are no "have to's" on your to do list for today. Compelled by His love they are all "get to's." @AaronBublitz

The Holy Spirit gives them power to live in a way that pleases God. #thegospelprojectkids We obey *from* our acceptance, not *for* our acceptance. @jaredcwilson Believers must be ready to fight a spiritual battle every day. We fight against evil, knowing Jesus won the war. #thegospelprojectkids   The gift of the Scriptures is the enduring presence of God’s voice. As long as we have this book, he is never silent. @jaredcwilson But I believe that one important reason why churches struggle to develop biblical community is because so much of what the church does enhances the congregation’s self centeredness rather than challenging and confronting it.  @jaredcwilson

If you like the tweet, go and follow the person on Twitter. Those desperately clinging to Christ for His grace have not the time or energy to compare themselves to others. For they feel as if they are the worst of all sinners and have no righteousness to boast of. The law reminds us of God’s demands and the gospel of God’s grace! @jonmoffitt We come not to the Father’s house to gain acceptance, but to rejoice and be refreshed in our eternally declared acceptance in Christ Jesus. Come, see what the Lord has done. Come, eat and drink to have your faith strengthened. Come, rest in His presence. Love Sundays!!! @jonmoffitt The Holy Spirit changes the way we think and live so we can love one another as God has loved us. #thegospelprojectkids May our focus be our “awe of You” and not what we “ought to do.” @BenjiMa...

If you like the tweet, go and follow the person on Twitter. From the way you talk about your faith, do people get the impression that Jesus is great, or that you are? @jaredcwilson The first part of a good work is will; the other, a strong effort to accomplish it; the author of both is God. Therefore we are robbing the Lord if we claim for ourselves anything either in will or in accomplishment. (John Calvin) Under the shepherding care of Jesus, failing to get what we want most is not a roadblock but the way to freedom. @JeffPierce76 Believers are God’s children—freed from sin, given power to do what is right, and adopted into God’s family. #thegospelprojectkids for the sermon cannot do any good unless there is a savor of Christ in it. (Charles Spurgeon) via @jaredcwilson The power for salvation and the sa...

If you like the tweet, go and follow the person on Twitter. Our growth in the grace of God is connected closely with our pursuit of the knowledge of God’s character and works as revealed in God’s word. @jaredcwilson From this, one may easily infer, as I have said, that everything good in the will is the work of grace alone. (John Calvin) Love is an action. Jesus showed God’s love for us when He died on the cross to rescue people from sin. #thegospelprojectkids New mercies and sufficient grace, hidden in Christ and righteous by faith, beloved of the Father and sealed by the Spirit... what a way to begin and live this day. @ScottyWardSmith A theologian of glory reads the Bible and sees himself on every page. We want every brain cell to behold your beauty and obey your gospel. Flush the nonsense from our noggins. @ScottyWardSmith Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection is the gospel. We deserve to die because of sin, but Jesus died in our place. #thegospelprojectkids Even so and evermore, Jesus, school us well in panting after you. Make us masters in pant-theology. Keep us simultaneously both deeply thirsty for you and greatly satisfied in you. @ScottyWardSmith Grace’s work in your life is incomplete, so confess your neediness, choose to be dependent and celebrate God’s patience. @PaulTripp  T he power of the Gospel is...

One day, Jesus will return as King over everything. #thegospelprojectkids The first word of Holy Week was “Hosanna!”;  the next word, “Crucify Him!”; but  the last word was “He is risen!” Jesus, no other king could vanquish sin and evil riding the foal of a donkey. No other king could break the backbone of warfare by the brokenness of crucifixion. @ScottyWardSmith May we rest well tonight in the knowledge that nothing can separate us from God's love or alter our Father's plans for our lives. He is at work in ALL things for our good and his glory. No exceptions. @ScottyWardSmith

Because of Jesus’ great mercy to us, we can show mercy to others. #thegospelprojectkids Every Christian is vitally connected to the person and work of the Spirit of the living God! @jaredcwilson In every believer who walks across the pages of Scripture we see the dark shadows of Adam’s legacy as well as glimmers of the bright beauty of Jesus, the second Adam. (Dennis E. Johnson) If we were dismayed that Adam’s offense has rendered us, his children, guilty, how grateful we can be that another Servant, acting on our behalf, withstood the test in complete obedience, so that his o...

Paul was dedicated to Jesus, who called him to do the work of sharing the gospel. #thegospelprojectkids Christian, don't look to your behaviour, your feelings or your faithfulness. Jesus Christ is your righteousness. He is your status and your standing before God. Always there, always reliable, always the same. @mike_reeves Hallelujah! The gospel frees us from scorecards, measuring sticks, and annual reviews. Our standing in grace is inviolate, our rootedness in your love is deep, and hiddenness in Christ is complete. @ScottyWardSmith Through the gospel, we’re motivated not by guilt but by gratitude. @JeremyTreat5 The older I get, the more I realize that my most important work is abiding, not doing. @DashHouse

If you like the tweet, go and follow the person on Twitter. "Singing general truths about God is right and good. But for the gospel to dwell in us, it’s vital to sing the specifically about Christ’s person and work." @emschumacher   Paul and Silas preached the same message to all people: “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.” #thegospelprojectkids Problems with the exhortation to “live out the Gospel”: 1) It confuses Law and Gospel. - Loving God and neighbor is Law, not Gospel. 2) It makes the Gospel experiential when it is actually objective. - Christ lived, died, resurrected, and ascended in history. @AustinDHobbs The requirement of the law on us hasn’t changed. What has changed is the means by which we can obey the law. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law, but fulfill it.  @storiedca...

The early church agreed that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, He alone is all we need to be saved #thegospelprojectkids The people saw firsthand how Jesus ministered not only to the spiritual needs but also to their physical and material needs. Healing, teaching, and sustenance came from his hand, and all for their good.  @russramsey We read the New Testament & Old Testament through the lens of Jesus. It is a Christ centered hermeneutic. So the law reveals the righteousness that God is, by which we are judged (and therefore condemned); the gospel reveals the righteousness that God freely gives to sinners through faith in Jesus Christ. @MichaelHorton_ Informed minds, inflamed hearts, engaged hands... all 3 are products of faithful preaching of the gospel. Don’t settle for your favorite of the 3 @ScottyWardSmith   The Devil is the slanderer of God's children. (Jack Miller)   Not every Democrat or Republican, evangelical or non-believer, conservative or liberal, complementarian or egalitarian is as vile as our categorical generalizations imply. Let’s neither demonize nor deify anyone. @ScottyWardSmith When the dominant goal is to defend one’s position, it is extremely difficult to consider the possibility that answers may not lie exclusively on one side, to see the beneficial arguments on the other side, and to explore new areas. His last words were, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age". We never need to doubt His nearness or fear He has abandoned us. @Thejesslou No matter what you are facing today. We never graduate to “deeper things.” Sanctification gets traction from the positive energy of justification. @rayortlund via @WhiteHorseInn I’m personally thankful that God doesn’t function like cosmic karma. Union with Christ means Christ is in you. @WilbourneWisdom The gospel also reminds me that my righteous standing with God always holds firm regardless of my performance, because my standing is based solely on the work of Jesus and not mine.  @MiltonVincent #agospelprimer As Savior, Jesus seeks sinners. He paid the ultimate price—His own life—to save people from sin. #thegospelprojectkids We miss the message of the Bible when we read it as though we’re doing our algebra homework, so we can get a good grade from God for the day. @ElyseFitz Galatians 3:3. (Jack Miller) You might feel burdened and weighed down by all the things you feel you ought to do for God, or by all of your repeated sins, but remember, God is your Savior. God says your clean and holy with a limitless future. @JeremyG220 We are justified, sanctified, & glorified by grace. The entire Christian life is lived under the reign of God’s grace.
