Last year, I wrote a curriculum for our 2nd-4th grade classes at our mid-week program at church called Hide N Seek.  The curriculum focused on who God is. As part of that curriculum, my friend Brittni Rhodes, made images to convey the truth about who God is.  I would like to start sharing these images weekly as a reminder of the good, great, and awesome God we have.  

We are continuing our series, God is….which will look at what some call the attributes of God or the character or God or what makes God, God. Previously, we discussed God is Creator, Good, Great, Holy, Loving, Provider, and Merciful. Introduction: A.W. Tozer writes, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. And the second is what we think God thinks of us.” Opening Quiz : What is the point of the story of Abraham and Isaac? Why is Leviticus in the Bible? This Sunday, I continue series on the attributes of God. Or in other words, the things that make God, God.  It is entitled, "God is...." Thank you to Brittni Rhodes for the graphics. This week, we will look at God is.....Savior, Substitute, and Sacrifice Here are a few things to ponder prior to Sunday: Read the Bible passage : 1 Corinthians 2:2 and Hebrews 7:22-28 Questions to think about: What have you learned about God as Creator, Good, Great, Holy, Loving, Merciful, Provider from previous weeks?   We know what God has saved us from.  But what has he saved us to?   Why is Christ as a substitute important for us? This morning, I was reading from Numbers 11 where the Israelites complain about life. Why don't we have tastier food? This manna is getting dry and a little old day after day. God was not impressed by their complaints. It reminded me of another Scripture in Philippians 2:14 which says, "Do everything without complaining or arguing." This is a some great advice from Paul, but sometimes difficult to live out. So, are you a complainer? I tend to be a positive person, but occasionally I begin to complain to myself or to my wife. My kids (like most kids) complain about food and other things off and on throughout the day. As I read God's Word this morning, I started to wonder why we complain (we are no different than the Israelites--we would have been complaining too). What makes us complain?
