Happy Anniversary to me at Hesston MB

Today, marks 10 years of ministry at Hesston MB.  It's hard to believe.  When we moved to Hesston, our kids were 15 months old, Kindergarten, first and third grade.  I have been blessed to serve here and look forward to many more years of ministry.  Several things have changed over the 10 years including myself.  I remember many conversations between Bethany and I after interviewing and visiting that we hoped we would get the job because we loved the community, the schools and the church.  We continue to agree and believe those things today. For reference, here is a picture of our family and the kids 10 years ago:

Today, Hesston MB (the church where I am a pastor) celebrates 40 years of God's faithfulness to her.  Yesterday, we had a celebration during our worship time including recognition of charter members that started the church, pictures and stories over the years, and a potluck meal together.  I am thankful to be serving at Hesston MB and look forward to what God will continue to do in and through Hesston MB over the next 40 years. Happy Anniversary, Hesston MB!

Happy 20th Anniversary, Bethany!

Today is my 20th wedding anniversary! I don't think it is possible because I don't feel that old. I am thankful for my amazing wife.  She has been a blessing to me in so many ways. I still remember: seeing you for the first time on our wedding day as you walked down the aisle. the large hole in the back of my tux jacket that had to be repaired.  Thanks Denice! all of the great food at the reception that we hardly ate and a meal at Carlos O'Kelley's that we didn't eat much of either. being sent to the basement of the church because of bad weather and how some of our guests saw a tornado on their drive home, but when we drove to Kansas City, we only saw rainbows. an awesome week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for our honeymoon including Blue's Clues, 10 grain pancakes (or was it more?), wonderful restaurants, beaches, going to the movies, and even a waterpark (you must of been in love because I don't think you have been to one since)  We still have ...

Today is my 19th wedding anniversary.  I am so thankful that Bethany said yes two decades ago.  I love her more today than I did 19 years ago when I said, "I Do."  Since then we have lived in three cities and 6 different apartments/homes and have added 4 kids.  She truly is a blessing to me in so many ways! Happy Anniversary, Beautiful! Now, enjoy some of my favorite photos of us!

Today, Bethany and I have been married for 18 years.  You can donate here to help Bethany and J.L. get to Hawaii for our 20th--it's only 2 years away! I am thankful for the woman I married and love her more everyday.  Over the years, we have had some great experiences together.  We also have had challenges which have helped us trust one another and God more. Marriage is a gift from God. Happy Anniversary, Bethany!

Happy 17th Anniversary, Bethany!

Who would have known that 17 years later we would have 4 kids? Who could have known that you would be a manager at a Christian bookstore and we would be living in Hesston, Kansas?  Who could have predicted that you would be spending two weeks on vacation in Orlando at Disney World and the beach? (For those that do not know, Bethany does not enjoy traveling, amusement parks, beaches, dressed up characters, and crowds.) I am amazed at how we have grown together as a couple through the good and the bad.  As I love to tell people it was love a first sight for me.  However, that love is nothing compared to the love that I have for you now.  You are an amazing woman, wife, mother, and manager.  You are kind, funny, intelligent, caring, selfless, and beautiful. I know we won't get to celebrate today because of work and kid's activities, but you made me the happiest guy in the world 17 years ago when you said, "I DO!" Here is a picture from then and now.  Bea...
