Introduction: Have you heard someone say, “God, give me a sign.”  What exactly is a sign?  I immediately thought about hand signs of a few college teams (WSU, K-State, Texas).  Here’s my thoughts as we prepare to hear the passage today.  These signs are not WSU, K-State or Texas but they point to those universities.  In the same way, prophecy and tongues are pointing or directing to something else as well. Introduction: As I titled this sermon, I immediately thought about a show that Mitchell used to watch as a kid.  So, we are going to watch the Bob the Builder Theme Song . It’s amazing to me how children’s TV theme songs can teach us something about the church.  Did you hear some of the lines-Can we build it?  Can we fix it?  It lists all of the characters and how they work together with their different abilities. I have almost finished reading Jesus Continued by J.D. Greear. As I have said before, it has become my new favorite book on the Holy Spirit.  He continues in Chapters 8-10 discussing how the Holy Spirit uses the Word, spiritual gifts and the church. Below are some quotes from those chapters: The most reliable guide to the will of God is the Word of God. In other words, don't lean on your abilities to figure out the will of God. Lean on his willingness to guide you. If you have the Spirit of God, you are "anointed." We don't work for him as much as he works through us. God gives each of us a major-league role in his kingdom.
