We often forget.  We see throughout history the Israelites and the church forgetting. We need to be reminded often of who God is in Scripture, church history and in our lives and churches. This is a new feature on the blog on the names of God.  Why?  Because these names are not just what God does, it is who He is.  I hope this will encourage you as you are reminded of how good, great, and awesome our God is. Logos   Logos means word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) What it reminds me?  Jesus was present at creation.  Jesus is God.  Jesus has unity with the Father and Holy Spirit.  The Bible teaches us about who God is.  We need to be careful to not let our belief in the Bible replace the Trinity.  As J.D. Today I preached on the topic of "Give More" from Advent Conspiracy.  Below are my notes from my message which tied in with our kid's Christmas program. My theme is Give More. I have one point this morning- Give More Gospel   Define the gospel or draw a picture of what the gospel is.   How people understand gospel §   It’s what you say or what is shared at end of sermon that gets people saved §   It’s what starts the Christian life, then we move on to something deeper §   It’s a philosophy. On Monday, the Gospel Project had an online seminar.  At Hesston MB Church, where I serve, we use the Gospel Project Kid's Curriculum on Sunday mornings.  I searched several months for a curriculum and this one was the best I found.  These short videos feature many different speakers and topics.  They are available to watch for one more week here   Below are my favorite quotes from 6 of the videos I have watched: Good news is not just good advice. Here are my notes from my sermon today at Hesston MB entitled, "What's Next?" Last week, Pastor Brad had two main points: Holy Spirit gives glory to Jesus & Disciples give glory to Jesus by testifying. (See John 15:26-27). Jesus shared his vision-tell others about me. Introduction: When Mitchell was younger, he loved to know the schedule for the day.   As we would talk about our plans, he would say “what’s next”.   Even if we gave him a whole day’s schedule, he would respond “what’s next.” Today’s message is one of the final times Jesus has with his disciples and I am sure the disciples are asking “what’s next.”   Read John 16:5-14 ·          Good (vs. 5-7) o    Vs. 5-Where are you going? §   Disciples were ordinary people like you & me.
