Grace is sufficient

My word for 2014 is focused on the power of God.  Are you feeling weak today?  Be encouraged by the truth of God's Word that in our weakness, Jesus is powerful. 9  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)

Are you overflowing?

I love this verse from Romans 15:13.  What a great reminder that God fills us and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can share with others out of the overflow. 13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)

Power given by Jesus

I am continuing to share verses related to my word for 2014: power.  This is not our power or strength, but the power of God.  Today's verse shares how Jesus gave His disciples power. 9  When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2  and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2)

Gaze at the Greatness of God from Isaiah 40

“To whom will you compare me?      Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. 26  Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:      Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one      and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength,      not one of them is missing. 27  Why do you complain, Jacob?      Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord ;      my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28  Do you not know?      Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,      the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary,      and his understanding no one can fathom. 29  He gives strength to the weary      and increases the power of the weak. 30  Even youths...

We can rest because of God's power

I encourage you to rest today because God's Word is true.  Listen to God's Word from Jeremiah 10:6: 6 There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might.

In God's Hand

and said, “O L ORD , God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. (2 Chronicles 20:6 ESV)

My Word: Power

My word for 2014 is God's power.  This one comes from the Hebrew word, gebuwrah .  Here is a verse to remind us of His power today: Yours, O L ORD , is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O L ORD , and you are exalted as head above all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)

Word for 2014 Scripture

As I mentioned in a previous post, my word for 2014 is God's power.  This one comes from the Hebrew word, gebuwrah .  Here is a verse to remind us of His power today: O Lord G OD , you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours? (Deuteronomy 3:24 ESV)

Whom Shall I Fear?

Here is another song that reminds me of the power of God and His relationship with us. "The One who reigns forever is a friend of mine."  Be reminded that we have no one or nothing to fear.

Grace Greater Than All Our Sin

The song for today ties in with Scriptures about grace as well as the power of God.  Think about this marvelous grace today.

Final Chapters of Greater

Last week, I finished Greater by Steven Furtick. I highly recommend the book if you wanting something greater in your life. Are you tired of the status quo? Are you tired of settling for an average faith? Have you given up on the dreams and passions you had? Do you avoid taking risk because you doubt God can use you? If you answer yes to any of the questions, you need to pick up this book. Here are some quotes from the final chapters: Scriptures to read: 2 Kings 6:16-17, 1 John 4:4, Ephesians 1:18-21 "Satan is the maestro of mediocrity." "If you want to live surrounded by God's miracles, you have to come to terms with the fact that you'll always be surrounded by enemies." "What matters is what my Father sees in me and what He says about me." "He (Paul) prays that the Ephesians would know how the power of God is accessible and available to them as ordinary, average, common believers." "whenever you do what God has c...
