D6 Minis, Part 2 #d62013

Skit Guys gave us great laughs talking about their understanding of D6 which is "Designate 6" people to impress our kids.  It was a humorous way to think about role of parents in life of kids. Timothy Smith What is our family identity?  Who do we want our kids to be?  So, we started to plan. Do they have a plan for generational discipleship? Cookie cutters work good for cookies, but don't work on the hearts of our kids.We need a plan for generational discipleship. We must give people small wins in discipling their kids. He shared his family faith plan which incorporates senses and times of day.  This is followed by a family time experience. Lydia Randall Busyness. I'm tired?  Are you? We don't say fine any more, we instead say "busy." We wear our busyness as a badge of honor. Busyness is killing our hearts. Most of our families at Lake Pointe will give us two time slots. Faith Path-includes path as well as tools  

Last Session of D6 Conference

Last session starts out with a life size game of Angry Birds. Skit Guys were up next. Garnett Reid shares about God's Word and looks at inter-generational living throughout the Old Testament. He shared about heritage and legacy. Heritage-"living faithfully today". I want to challenge you, but also want to encourage you. I especially want to encourage the fathers. Psalm 90-You have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. He shared the story of 3 generations. God's story is one of faithfulness. Hesed-Hebrew word for God's loyalty, His covenantal faithfulness. Dad, God will be faithful to you as you lead your family spiritually. 4 Simple Conclusions about Hesed God pledges Himself in "hesed" to every son in every generation. What words are we to teach from Deuteronomy 6? Look at Deuteronomy 5-focus on the 10 commandments. Make no image of God. He keeps His covenant promises. Ryan Rush & Jon Cannon at D6

How does a D6 Model look in different sized churches? This is the question that Ryan Rush and Jon Cannon spoke about during their session. Some of the stats shared were that 94% of the churches in the United States are 500 members or less. And 59% are 100 members or less. Jon Cannon speaking of his smaller church shared about all of their Sunday School classes are studying the same topic from children through adults. He shared about how they implement D6 in worship by allowing kids to see mom/dad worship rather than being separated from them all of them time in worship. Ryan Rush shared a little about his larger church and how they changed their church culture.
