Introduction : Today’s message is titled Living in the Kingdom.   How would you explain the kingdom?   Recently, we have heard a lot about Chiefs Kingdom.   What does it mean to be part of Chiefs Kingdom? It seems to mean you have an allegiance to and you are a part of something with others. Another image for the kingdom comes from my favorite Children’s Bible “Jesus Storybook Bible” which explains the Kingdom like this, “One day Jesus was telling people about God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom is wherever God is King, Jesus told them. It’s wherever God is in charge. It’s where he fills your heart up with his Forever Happiness and you stop running away from him and you love him.” What is the kingdom? The kingdom of God is the reign, rule and supremacy of Jesus Christ. The heart of God is to impart the reality of the Kingdom of God in the human heart so that it would be seen on earth as it is in heaven. My Aunt Kay Jean suggested I start sharing a verse of the day.  I liked her suggestion but decided instead of a verse of the day, I would share a verse of the week.  Be reminded of who God is from His Word. 13  And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. 14  But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15  Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16  And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them. (Mark 10:13-16)

Introduction In these parables (earthly story with a heavenly meaning), what does Jesus want us to understand about His kingdom?   Let’s read these parables- Read Matthew 13: 31-33; 44-46 Notice how the parables begin. Kingdom of heaven is like… ·          Jesus does not define the kingdom of God; He describes it only through parables. [1] As I titled this message, Big K Kingdom, I wanted us to see there is a difference between a little k kingdom and Big K Kingdom.   When I volunteered in Iola at a youth center, I used to remind everyone that I am not just about growing my little k kingdom (Iola FCC).   You could replace Iola with HMBC. But my desire is to see God’s Big K Kingdom expanded which means I am excited when people are saved and discipled whether they attend HMBC or Hesston Methodist or Hesston Mennonite, etc. It’s not about building little k kingdoms, but God getting the glory for Big K Kingdoms being built...
