Sermon Notes: Pray BIG based on Philippians 4:6-7 and Luke 9:1-2

Review: Brad’s messages the last few weeks

• Who is God? Where is God? What?
• 7-11 Promise from Psalm 46:7,11-“The Lord of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
• Know Fear (Transportation, Government, Education, Entertainment, Relationships, Finance, Nutrition, Health)
• Why? John 10:10-“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
• Matthew 14:30-“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, Lord, save me.”

Introduction: Mackenzie’s birth story (Yesterday was her 18^th birthday)

• Bethany placed on bedrest at 32 weeks while pregnant with Mackenzie
• At 35 weeks, she went into labor and doctors couldn’t stop it and because Mackenzie was breach, she was delivered via C-section
• I was able to carry Mackenzie to the NICU after birth where she spent the next 2 weeks
•  During this time of uncertainty, there was a lot to be anxious about.  However, Bethany and I had a peace that was without explanation.  It wasn’t our being super Christians, but instead the prayers that were being prayed for Mackenzie and for us.
•  Remember-Thank God for a time when He moved powerfully in your life

Boldness (Luke 9:1-2)
Luke 9:1-2-“And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.”

• We pray from a place of authority given by Jesus not begging God.

Intimately Personal, Infinitely Powerful God gives us an Inconceivable Identity

• Father-Yahweh Jireh, Yahweh Shalom, Yahweh Rapha, Yahweh Sabaoth
• Son-Prince of Peace, Savior, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Immanuel, Resurrection & Life
• Holy Spirit- Acts 1:8-“But you will receive power, when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
• Us-Because of who God is, we are loved, children of God, more than conquerors, saved, sealed, empowered
