Promises of God from Nehemiah
Here are some promises of God from the book of Nehemiah:
“O Lord, God of heaven, the great
and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and
obey his commands, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the
prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the
people of Israel” (1:5-6).
“Remember the instruction you gave
your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among
the nations, but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your
exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and
bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name” (1:8-9).
“The God of heaven will give us
success. We his servants will start
rebuilding” (2:20).
“Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome,
and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your
homes” (4:14).
“This day is sacred to our
Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the
Lord is your strength” (8:10).
“Blessed be your glorious name,
and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest
heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas
and all that is in them. You give life
to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you” (9:5-6).
“You have kept your promise
because you are righteous” (9:8).
