Promises of God from Acts

Below are promises of God from the book of Acts.  What a great reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit in us as believers.

God has given us the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to enable us to be witnesses of the good news of forgiveness and life in Christ (1:8; 10:40-43).
It is through the resurrected Son of God that we are recipients of God’s abundant grace and power (4:12, 33).
God has fulfilled his promise to his people by raising up Jesus and by granting through him the forgiveness of sins.  “Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses” (13:32-39; 16:30).
God is not far from each one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being (17:27-28).

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others.
