Highs of the Week

Here are my highs from the past week:
  • 4th of July in Yates Center
  • Supper at Applebee's with my parents on Tuesday
  • Our new to us TV from my parents which we finally got to the basement
  • God Provides Bible Study
  • Playing noon basketball again
  • Wipeout
  • Several phone calls about the house including at least two possibly three serious inquiries. One is talking with the bank, the other working on an offer, and the third might pay cash after working out some details with back pay.
  • Watching Mitchell play tennis
  • Date night for Bethany's early birthday. We ate a late supper (8:30) at Red Robin, went to Target, and then to Freddy's for dessert (about 10). Steve & Shirley kept the kids overnight.
  • Quiet morning on Saturday so I mowed the yard and did some various yard projects.

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others.
