MB Pastor's Get Together

Well, today is the last day of the Pastor's Get Together for MB pastors of the Southern District. It has been a couple of good days of learning and relaxing and fun. Unfortunately, our speaker had a flight cancelled so plans had to be changed. However, Ed Boschman did a great job sharing from God's Word with us with little to no preparation. He shared from 1 Corinthians 3 & 1 Peter 5. Our speaker has arrived now and will share this morning.

We are staying at NCED (National Center for Employee Development) in Norman, OK. It is hot! But the hotel is nice and cool. I have been several times to the salt water pool. It has these floatie things that are so relaxing. That has been a treat! NCED also has great food and a lot of it. You do not go away hungry. Last night, we played some games in the gym. It was fun, but I learned that casual shoes are not good for carrying a quarter. It has been nice to be away again with Bethany without kids.

Today, we pick the kids up to join us. Thanks Steve & Shirley for watching them the last two nights!

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others.
