Biblical Reconciliation by Beth Guckenberger #d62013

Joshua 1:8-Meditate on it day and night.  "Sound a lion makes when it consumes it prey."  We need to consume God's Word.

Nobody wants to hear stories that are still in process.  We are not exempt from worthless storylines.

There's nothing you can do to take yourself out of the game.

Principles apply to all storylines no matter how dark.

God's storyline-Reconciliation, Redemption, Restoration, Rescue, Repair

Conflict is like cancer.  It eats away at relationships.

Sulhah-covenantal table of reconciliation-person who was hurt takes initiative and offers something to say "I no longer hold this against you."

Examples of Suhlah from Genesis to Revelation:
      Jacob & Laban
      Joseph & Brothers
      Father & Prodigal Son
      Peter & Jesus
      Revelation 3:20
      Jesus & Lord's Supper

Not defined by what I have done, but instead freed up to live the life that God still has for us....

Reconciliation cannot be withheld from those outside or inside the Body of Christ.

Get our heads in right place so our heart will follow.  Don't let emotions keep us from reconciliation in relationships.

Jesus entered Jerusalem through the sheep gate, not king's gate.

Present day examples of sulhah:
Key is not releasing; it is the filling of God

Exodus 8-The Plague of Frog-"We get used to living with the frog that we cannot imagine life without it.

Key is about what God has provided, not whether

40 Days after Passover-Jewish people read 10 Commandments, Jeremiah 31:31-33;  Ezekiel 1-2

God wants to redeem that which was lost.  See 3,000 lost when worshipping calves & 3,000 saved at Pentecost.
