Highs for the Week

Occasionally, I like to share the highs from my past week.  As a family, we try to do this each evening at supper.

Here are my highs in no particular order:

  • Kids day off from school on Monday included "special" trip to Perk
  • Hanging up posters for oil change with my girls
  • Another great evening for Hide N Seek & fuzion
  • Hesston Coming Home Parade
  • Contract on our Iola House
  • Coffee with a friend at The Well
  • Fireworks at Home Football Game
  • Swimming & Movie with the kids
  • Parent/Child Dedication & Children's Church during worship today
  • My wife getting home from South Dakota
  • Leaving for Dallas for D6 on Tuesday

Sermon Notes "Plans" based on Acts 10:24-48

Introduction: I would like you to think about the word “plans”. Write down on your bulletin some plans you have for: this week, summer, your future, etc.   I am a planner so I love to know what is going to happen.   Yet we also need to keep in mind a Scripture from Proverbs 19:21 “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We are going to see from the story of Peter and Cornelius, two great leaders who had plans yet God had a different plan and purpose for them and for others.
